Carl began drumming in his late primary school years. His interest in the drum kit quickly turned into a passion at high school, where he played as part of the Hurlstone Ag Pops Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and a student-led cover band. Carl continued with his love of music in university, where he completed a Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Music Practice) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music/USYD.

While completing his degree, Carl began drumming for local indie bands, as well as producing and releasing electronic music as Chairman Charming. Recently, Carl has also drummed for the UNSW Musical Theatre Society productions of ‘Company’ and ‘Twisted’.
