Stuart is a graduate of The Australian Institute of Music, completing a Bachelor of Music Degree in Contemporary Performance, Majoring in Songwriting with Drums as his Major Instrument.

Stuart began playing drums at the age of 9, soon after he joined the school band at Glenorie Primary School where he developed fundamental skills playing with other musicians.

Throughout high school, in addition to studying the drums, Stuart began to expand his musical knowledge by joining the School Vocal Ensemble at Galston High, and taking guitar lessons as well.

In year 9, Stuart was the drummer for Galston High Schools production of the Musical ‘Zeussical’ and then in year 11, played Drums again for ‘High School Musical’.

After completing Music as an elective in years 9-10, Stuart then went on to complete both Music 2 and Extension Music (composition) for his HSC.

The following year, Stuart returned to Galston High as an Alumni member in the band for the schools production of the musical ‘Back to the 80’s’ on Electric Guitar.

After high school, Stuart was accepted into the Australian Institute of Music where he would complete a Bachelor Of Music in Contemporary Performance, majoring in Songwriting, with Drums as his major instrument. After making new connections at Aim, Stuart then found himself playing drums for numerous originals and covers bands, playing regular shows around Sydney, as well as interstate tours.  This helped Stuart expand his musical vocabulary, spanning from hard rock, to funk, to jazz, to world music, and everything in between. The connections Stuart made through networking at live shows led to a great deal of session work (both in the studio and on stage) all over Sydney.

After having completed his Bachelor of Music, Stuart is now focusing on teaching, while maintaining his busy schedule of live shows and original projects.
