Bon is a passionate and highly experienced musician whose career spans more than a decade of live performance, recording, and touring. A graduate of the Bachelor of Music program at JMC Academy, he brings both formal training and real-world industry experience into every lesson he teaches.

As a performer, Bon has shared the stage with some of Australia’s most respected musicians, including Steve Balbi (Noiseworks) and Rick Grossman (Divinyls, Hoodoo Gurus). His band has also supported a range of major Australian and international acts such as Rose Tattoo, Airbourne, Asomvel, Large Mirage, The Supersuckers, and Uli Jon Roth of the legendary Scorpions.

Bon’s career has taken him on numerous domestic and international tours, performing to crowds numbering in the thousands. Along the way he has worked with award-winning producers and built an impressive catalogue of recorded music, including three studio albums, two EPs, and numerous singles.

​

 

At Octave8, Bon brings this depth of professional experience directly into the teaching studio. His lessons focus not only on technique and musicianship, but also on the practical skills needed to perform confidently on stage, collaborate in bands, and develop as a modern musician.

 

Bon is known around the academy for being friendly, approachable, and incredibly supportive of students. He also serves as Octave8’s Student Liaison Officer, helping students feel welcome and supported throughout their musical journey. In addition, Bon runs the academy’s half-term band workshops, where students get the exciting opportunity to rehearse and perform together in a real band environment.
