Mr Advik
Guitar
Advik discovered the guitar at the age of six and in the nearly two decades since, it has never left his hands. What began as childhood curiosity quickly became a lifelong passion, shaped by the raw energy of metal and rock.
Now 24, Advik brings 18 years of dedicated playing experience to his role at Octave8. His musical range spans classic rock and metal through to blues, and extends into the more specialised world of percussive fingerstyle guitar, a technique that transforms the instrument into a full musical conversation, combining melody, harmony, and rhythm simultaneously. It is a rare skill, and one that reflects the breadth and depth of his commitment to the instrument.
Alongside his musical life, Advik is completing a Master of Engineering in Renewable Energy, a background that speaks to his precision, his analytical thinking, and his ability to break down complex ideas into clear, digestible steps. These qualities translate directly into the lesson room, where Advik is known for his patience, his methodical approach, and his genuine warmth with students of all ages.
He has performed at school and college events throughout his musical journey, and his teaching philosophy is simple but powerful: he wants every student to fall in love with music. In Advik's lesson room, the guitar is a canvas — and the student's creativity is given the freedom to flow across it.
Whether a student is picking up the guitar for the very first time or working toward their next RSL or Trinity grade, Advik meets them exactly where they are, with enthusiasm, structure, and a deep belief that music has the power to change how you see the world.
